WHAT IS CIRCUS CONDITIONING?

Advanced acrobatics, including handstands and aerial tricks, can’t be learned in a single class. To pull off the seemingly impossible, strength and technique must be gained through ongoing practice. In Circus Conditioning classes, students of all levels, from complete beginners to professional performance artists, can build the foundation necessary for hand balancing, tumbling, and aerial arts.

AERIAL CIRCUS 101

60 minutes

 

During Aerial Circus 101, you can try out a few of Om Factory’s most popular Circus apparatuses. Explore beginner moves for Silks, Lyra, Single-Point Hammock & more!

 

Enjoy upper-body conditioning as you swing through the air with the greatest of ease on trapeze. Work your obliques into oblivion as you learn how to spin a Lyra. Let the silks be your new thigh master as you strengthen and tone those legs. No circus class is complete without basic warm ups including balance, dance, and tumbling influences.

 

Prerequisites:

  • None! Bring your good attitude and come willing to sweat!  
  • This class will be a fitness challenge, so come ready to work! 

Hammock Playground / level 1

Get ready to explore tricks, rolls, and flips while soaring through creative sequencing. This class offers time for play, exploration, and finding your own groove with the hammock while still challenging your body & mind. You don't need to be an expert, but be prepared to push yourself to the next level. Come party with us in the air!

 

Prerequisites:

  • Must have taken 3-5 Level 1 Aerial Yoga classes.
  • Out-of-town students should have a similar level of relevant experience.
  • Must understand the basics of supported pull-ups & inverting in the hammock.

 


hammoCk playground / level 2

Class will focus on specialized conditioning that teaches your body how to engage against the fabric in order to find more fluid movement through sequences. Progressions and transitions that keep you in the air for the majority of your class will push you to build increased endurance. Through a deeper exploration of how tricks should safely begin and end, you'll discover the technique each skill requires within your body's own momentum and striking force. This class will offer you a fun, highly motivated, and supportive environment to work the knots out of your hammock practice.

 

Prerequisites:

  • 5+ Aerial Yoga 2 OR Circus classes within the past two months.
  • Ability to complete one pull-up, five push-ups, and hold plank for 30 seconds.
  • Ability to invert in the air without assistance.
  • Out-of-town students should have a similar level of relevant experience. 

Flexibility  /  level 1 + OPen level

75 minutes

 

We know the challenge of holding deep & thorough stretches for an extended time can be an enormous one. In our Flexibility classes, learn to properly and safely stretch with all the individual attention you require. These classes benefit recreational learners and professional athletes alike, as well as both students & teachers. 

 

Level 1 classes consist of a high-intensity 15-minute warm up, 45 minutes of focused flexibility work, and will conclude with a 15-minute cool down to ease your muscles.  

 

Open-Level classes explore a broad range of motion with options for students of all levels, ages, and abilities. Students will work on a variety of active & passive stretches towards splits, backbends, and straddles. 

 

No previous experience is required. All levels welcome.
