New to aerial DANCE?

In Aerial Dance students learn to use aerial fabric to create elegant shapes and beautiful inversions from yoga-inspired poses to choreographed dance sequencing.

Each class starts with a warm-up emphasizing strength, flexibility & alignment, and will continue by introducing elements of progressive choreography with the hammock.

Appropriate for students looking to increase strength by working in & out of the fabric, for dancers looking to incorporate new skills into their repertoire, and seasoned aerialists wishing to add more grace into their craft.

Try something new!

level 1

In Aerial Dance Level 1 classes, students begin learning how to use the aerial hammock to create elegant shapes inspired by Aerial Yoga & Aerial Cirque, woven together in choreographed dance sequencing. Each class includes a warm-up emphasizing strength, flexibility & alignment — leaving plenty of time to explore elements of progressive choreography with the aerial hammock.

Level 1 classes are appropriate for beginner-level aerial students looking to increase strength & flexibility in a new playful way; dancers with little or no aerial experience will love these classes. Drop-ins welcome.

Prerequisites

  • Highly Recommended: A minimum ONE Om Factory Aerial Yoga class or equivalent with aerial hammock.
  • Safely invert, hammock at sacrum, with little instruction.

open level

Aerial Dance Open Level classes take the skills learned on a double-point hammock in our Level 1 classes to new heights on a spinning, single point apparatus. Students learn more challenging floor choreography and begin spending longer periods of time up in the sky linking beautiful shapes together in longer dance sequences.

After leading a warm-up emphasizing strength, flexibility & alignment, teachers offer choreography with options appropriate for a variety of skill levels so that students can all learn and progress together in an encouraging, empowering environment.

Open Level classes are appropriate for students with some aerial experience looking to learn new skills, as well as more seasoned aerialists wishing to add more grace into their craft.

Prerequisites

  • Attend a minimum of THREE Om Factory Aerial Yoga classes or equivalent experience with aerial hammock.
  • Safely invert, hammock at sacrum, without assistance or instruction.
  • Comfort performing assisted pull-ups in good form.
  • Confidence with Front & Back Balances

Instructor permission is required to waive Aerial Yoga pre-requisites for qualified students. Please contact us prior to enrollment.
