Aerial Performance & Act Creation is a 4-session series focusing on the process of aerial act development. One week after the series concludes, participants will present their acts in a Cabaret Evening at Om Factory — with an option to perform the acts again at NYC’s iconic cabaret venue The Slipper Room (additional fee applies)! 

In this workshop, we will explore performance, musicality, story, character, and audience engagement through movement, experimentation, and play — both in the air and on the ground! The tools & techniques of this workshop are designed to help everyone from first-time performers to seasoned professionals.

Costumes & confidence come into play as we polish your act. Choose your favorite apparatus from silks, lyra, rope, hammock, or a duo act with a friend! Participants are encouraged to dream up anything their imaginations want to explore.

NOTE: 

Teachers will not introduce new skill sets; focus will be on refining existing skills.

PRE-REQUISITES: 

• Must be able to invert from the ground or air without additional assistance.

• Must be able to perform skills on the choice of apparatus prior to enrolling.

• Students must be able to attend ALL sessions to enroll.

MEET the teacher

Amanda McDonald Amanda has been practicing aerial since 2007 and teaching since 2012. She helped create the Om Factory Aerial Yoga Teacher Training and Advanced Aerial Yoga Teacher Training. She loves big tricks and building strength, but her classes are really about building confidence & community.
