Yelimar started her Hatha Yoga practice in her early twenties to break up her work week and relieve stress. She immediately fell for the practice for it’s ability to bring her into the moment.
To this day, this form of self care is something she continues to go back to, to reconnect with herself. Yoga asana has afforded Yelimar a deeper more understanding relationship with her body. It has also taught her the focus and resilience necessary to learn, grow, and create positive change on and off the mat.
In her classes, Yelimar creates a safe container from which her students can explore their relationship to their body and the present moment with an open mind and a curious spirit. You can expect a heavy focus on alignment, and movement explorations that help you build balance in your practice. Her goal is to help her students feel more resilient, empowered, and connected to their potential.
Yelimar completed her RYT-200 Training as a Vinyasa Yoga Instructor with Sonic Yoga in 2006 with Lauren Hanna and Jonathan Fields. She received her certification as a Core Strength Vinyasa Yoga Instructor in 2009 with Sadie Nardini. She now studies anatomy, healthy biomechanics, and self care tools with Jill Miller founder of Yoga Tune Up®. She has completed the YTU Integrated Embodied Anatomy Training, Core Integration Immersion, and Hips Immersion modules.
