Taryn Vander Hoop

Taryn, a proud Wisconsin native and a lifelong student of movement, began her yoga journey while in graduate school for dance. The mat provided the space and solace she needed to reconnect with her body, breath, and alignment. She found that she was able to train her mind and breath to calm and, with time, these qualities moved beyond the mat and permeated into her way of being (at least most days!). Yoga has helped her navigate through this little thing called life immensely and it continues to teach her new and challenging things each and every day. Her mission as a movement educator is to help people find joy in movement, freedom and ease in the body and mind, and transform perceived limitations into endless possibilities.

Taryn holds a B.S. in Dance, English Literature, and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin, an MFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, a 200-Hour yoga certification from Yoga Effects, and 300-Hour yoga certification from Laughing Lotus Yoga Center, and is a Yoga for Cancer (ycC) certified teacher.  Her classes are designed to be vigorous yet accessible. She uses innovative transitions between asana to progressively heat up the body to prepare for advanced postures. Her enthusiasm for all kinds of movement creates an encouraging environment for students to practice and play. You can find Taryn teaching Vinyasa Yoga at OM Factory.
